An exorcists guidance (Msgr. Stephen J. Rossetti)

On a YouTube channel I was watching recently I came across the advice of a Monseigneur Rossetti who is also an exorcist. Recorded below is a snippet of a talk he gave that contains such beautiful and (now it would seem such obvious) advice, that I just had to record it below.

“Mental obsessions, I think, are much more common than people realise.
all of us have these unwanted and negative thoughts, it’s part of out fallen humanity,

some self denigration or impulses which we don’t like, that would be normal and especially for the scrupulous person – they have a lot of these.

But demonic obsessions are different.
Then come on suddenly and they’re very powerful, and they’re strong demonic messages,
such as they incite us to this intense anger and rage, impulses to hurt oneself or to commit suicide,
or just a constant powerful message that you’re a terrible person.

And this self hatred, you’re never going to be anything, and you’re an awful person,
or a sense of discord and conflict.

These are ways that the evil one attacks our mind suddenly and powerfully,
and they’re called demonic obsessions.”

How do we deal with them?
1. First of all, disappropriation – this is NOT me!
We identify them as not really coming from myself, but from the evil one.
This is not me this is him.

2. Second – relax.
It’s not a sin unless we follow them, of course.
So it’s not a sin, relax, trust in Jesus and even perhaps laugh, say this is ridiculous.
I’m not such an awful person.
I am not going to hurt myself.
I am not going to cause conflict and get into this rage. No, no.

And then perhaps say a shot prayer.

(I’ve got someone right now who has these intense demonic obsessions. And I take this person through about, about 20 minutes of this prayer, but they can actually be very effective. So let’s do that right now.

I want you to think of the kinds of demonic obsessions you have, It could be self hatred, self harm,
negative self talk, anger and rage whatever.

So identify it by name, evil spirits of, whatever… So get that in your mind first.
Okay?
Repeat after me…

“In the holy name of Jesus,
I rebuke the evil spirits of… (insert name)
(nice and strong)
I reject them,
I rebuke them,
I renounce them,
And in Jesus name I cast them out!”

(You have authority over your own body and self,
so you can command the demons to leave you.)

So do this prayer as much as you need to cast these evil spirits out.
And it can be very effective, especially if you take some time and do it.
Also, what you might want to do is two things.
One is heal any underlying weaknesses.
So if there is some negative self image image there that the demons are using as a portal,
then find some healing for that as well.

And secondly, very effective is to meditate on the word of God, the Bible,
for 20-30 minutes a day. This places in our minds the thoughts and the Word of Jesus
rather than the evil one.

So let’s finish by doing this again…

“In the holy name of Jesus,
I rebuke the evil spirits of… (insert name)
(nice and strong)
I reject them,
I rebuke them,
I renounce them,
And in Jesus name I cast them out!”

“In the holy name of Jesus,
I rebuke the evil spirits of… (insert name)
(nice and strong)
I reject them,
I rebuke them,
I renounce them,
And in Jesus name I cast them out!”

(Msgr. Rossetti gives a blessing)
“May the Lord give you His peace,
And may the Blood of Jesus wash over your minds and hearts.
Healing, purifying, sanctifying, bringing you peace.

And may Almighty God Bless you all.
Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Amen.

Go in peace.”
